Rilei Mesa Trebotic
Who is Rilei?
Born in San Pedro California , Rilei “Mesa” Trebotic grew up with a natural obsession with animals, nature, and drawing. She spent hours toiling over the “Warriors” cat book series and watching “Animal Planet”. As she got older she started to lean into practicing art more to express this intense interest in animals, creating characters and worlds filled with animal societies. By the time she turned 12 she made a vow that when she grew up she’d be a professional artist.
Rilei applied to attend ArtCenter College of Design in Winter of 2021 after 3 years of community college. She was accepted as an Illustration Design major. She learned many skills both in artistic ability and professionalism while studying at the college. During her time at the college she discovered a love for analog painting after spending a majority of her life using digital programs to illustrate. Her favorite technique is to use Markers and acrylic paint together to create highly colorful and textured pieces. She attended the school for 3 years, graduating in Spring of 2025 with a BFA in Illustrative Design.
Now that she’s out of College, she’s ready to jump into the illustration industry and take it by storm!
